WEBSITE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT.

Websites built to look good and perform.

If your website isn’t bringing in enquiries, it’s not doing its job.

At Redspot, we design and build websites for businesses across Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty that are clear, fast, and built to convert. Everything we create is grounded in real-world use — how people find you, what they need to see, and what makes them take action.

We don’t separate design, development, and marketing. It all works together from day one.

We build in WordPress, which means you own your site and can update it yourself without being locked into a platform you can’t leave. We’re based in Rotorua and work with businesses right across New Zealand.

What's included in a Redspot website build?

We don’t just “design a website”, we build the full foundation properly.

Strategy & Structure

Before anything is designed, we map out what your business does (clearly), who you’re trying to attract, and how users should move through the site. This avoids the biggest problem most websites have — looking good but not making sense.

Design

Clean, modern design that reflects your brand and actually guides users. We focus on responsive layouts, clear hierarchy (what matters most stands out), and consistent styling across all pages that accurately reflects your brand.

Development

We build in WordPress using best-practice frameworks so your site is fast loading, easy to update, and built to scale as your business grows. We also take care of all the behind-the-scenes stuff most people skip — but Google doesn’t.

SEO Foundations

Every website we launch includes on-site SEO done properly from the start. That means using page titles and meta descriptions that search engines love, internal linking between pages, and image optimisation. We don’t treat SEO as an add-on; it’s part of the build.

Imagery, video & animation

Strong visuals make a big difference, but only if they support the message. We can help you with ,image direction and sourcing, video content, and animation where it adds value.

Hosting, support & maintenance

Once your site is live, we can continue to support it when you join one of Redspot's website care plans, so your website stays fast, secure, and current.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Redspot make updates or improvements to my existing website?

We’d love to say yes, but the answer depends on which platform your existing website is built on. We build on WordPress and prefer to work with that platform. If you aren’t sure which platform your site is built on, we can help you find out.

We can help by conducting an audit of your website and providing a report that shows what improvements can be made to your website to increase search engine visibility and determine what opportunities there are to improve your digital marketing efforts and results.

A small, customised website (4 to 6 pages) with basic elements and functions can generally be finished in a few weeks. If you require more pages and/or features such as shopping carts, user accounts and logins, or payment processing which require a more complex design and functionality, you’re looking at a few months of development and testing. As with anything designed from scratch, the timeline is also affected by content (copy, branding and images) readiness and the number of revisions and stakeholder approvals. While we’re planning your web build we can provide a timeline that suits your business goals.

If you already have great photos and videos then we’d love to incorporate those into your new website. If you don’t, we regularly work with some great photographers and videographers, and we have access to stock footage.

We build websites on WordPress and Elementor. WordPress is the most used website platform in the world and Elementor is a drag-and-drop editor that makes it easy for you to make updates to your site once the website build is complete, if you wish to. Both programmes are widely used which means they are regularly updated, secure and reliable. The flexibility of these pieces of software mean your website can grow and evolve as your business does.

Yes — we build online stores as well as brochure-style and service-based websites.

We will create your website to the best technical SEO standards. Before you write your website content, we can provide a keyword research report which will give you relevant keywords to work into your website copy. Once your website is launched regular maintenance will be required to keep your SEO up to scratch.

SEO is evolving but still very important. People are now searching in lots of different ways including on generative AI engines and social media. GEO (generative engine optimisation) increases the likelihood of your website being referenced by AI tools. There are some overlaps between best practice for SEO and GEO.  Changing search patterns now make it all the more important to have well-structured and informative content on your website.

Yes, once we’ve completed the build we will give you access to the site and provide some tutorials to help you get started. WordPress and Elementor are user friendly. In addition to our own tutorials, there’s also a lot of help online. If you’d prefer not to edit your website, we’re always happy to make the changes for you.

With every new web build we provide access to a Google Analytics account that will give you the default analytics available through GA4. It is also possible to have custom analytics and conversion tracking set up your Google Analytics account to show you data in a way that is meaningful to you and your business.
